nicely visible indicator – best temperature strip of three brands I tried
These tell the temperature of the water in your tank (I guess other people use them for different things like for canning jars and other stuff).. I use it for aquariums – fish, dwarf frogs, mystery snails, shrimp etc. I put one of these on the bottom of the plastic container I use for water changes so I can see if I have the water the right temperature as I’m filling it. What I like about these and the reason I’m taking time to do a review is that this particular strip is very visible and obvious what the temperature is. It is more obvious than other similar temperature strips I’ve had. These are definitely the good ones.

Works great and easy to read
This works great to show you the temperature on a glass jug. I’m making kombucha and temperature can be important. I like it going sideways. It’s also easy to read.

Small temperature deviation from probes (+ 2°)
These are decent enough vallue, and easy to apply and use. The adhesive is more than enough, but still allows for some quick adjustment when applying. They work just like any other line thermometer, and are easy to read unlike others.My digital heater and probes have a discrepancy of approx +2° @ 75-85f, which is sensitive enough for my needs but perhaps not good enough for others.

READ THIS BEFORE USING!
These are as cheaply made as possible, but they are still pretty accurate. Tips you must see before using:1) There is a thin layer between the backing paper and front of thermometer, so be careful when peeling to not remove this layer as it is necessary for function.2) You MUST put down a piece of tape between the thermometer and the surface you want to apply it on. The reason for this is that the thermometer is EXTREMELY difficult to remove in one piece and the tape will make your life much easier. You can’t even reposition the thermometer without the thin layer on the back coming off and rendering it useless. You may even want to apply the thermometer to the tape first and then stick the tape to the surface.Disregard these tips at your own risk.Otherwise, they work fine and you get a bunch of ’em for the price.

Gread for putting on jars that need to be temped. I used them on sourdough starter jars but could be used for aquariums too.
