Don’t get the travertine unless you are familiar with that material, it’s not like marble
I have to admit I’m ignorant to how porous travertine is; it’s not smooth like marble or granite. The stone tray looks nice and heavy but the stone itself is quite porous and has lots of holes/voids for dirt and other debris to get stuck into. I would have thought the stone would have been sealed and polished but it’s nicely machined raw travertine stone which again I mention is very very porous.I personally would not order the travertine stone version again; I like the size and form factor but wonder if the marble version would be better or if these hard stones are normally sealed/finished to fill in the porous voids.Other than the quality of the stone itself I was very impressed with the craftsmanship of the stone carving; I was just disappointed in the actual product received for the price they are asking.

Since I bought the stone bowl to the left in the Pic, I decided to get the longer oval shape because as you can see it’s about the same length as my chest. Now I have a nice organized dresser top where before everything was just laying everywhere. Well, worth the money.
